In the past I have preferred to read action books by authors like Wilbur Smith, John Le Carre, lightweight thrillers by Dick Francis and things like that. Edge of Extinction has evolved over many years. At first it was simply a fiction biography of this strange man from the Amazon jungle, then I decided it needed something exceptional to happen and developed the current plot line of the village being in danger. There is a little tiny bit of romance in it ebcause

Hit that return key again! As I was saying - there is a tiny bit of romance in it because that is part of life, people meet and react to each other. The main story, though, is about saving the village from being wiped out. What do I like most about my book? The reaction I have had from it. It's hard to believe that me, a very ordinary working girl, could produce something that other people have praised so highly. I never knew I had it in me! Tim even said it was 'Literary'. That I don't believe.

Dear Lisa, "The Inscrutable Mrs. Winchester and Her Mysterious Mansio", what is this about, some of us probably have an idea but most of us probably have no idea what it is all about, now you tell us something, in your own way?




Lisa Selby Thank you Shah. It is about Sarah Winchester, the heiress to the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. fortune. She married the son of the inventor of the Winchester Repeating Rifle. They had a child who died when she was a month old. In 1881 her husband died. The story goes that she went to see a psychic, believing in such things, to contact her husband. The psychic told her that the people who had been killed by the Winchester repeating rifle were responsible for both the death of her baby daughter and her husband. She was told to move west and find a house that she could build on continously so as to appease those that had been killed by the "Rifle that Won the West". If she stopped building she would die. She moved to San Jose, California in 1884 and bought an 8 room farmhouse. It was said that she held seances every night at twelve o'clock midnight to converse with the spirits and to get the plans for building the house. The number 13 was supoosed to be her lucky number and incorporated it into her house in many ways. She built stairs that went to a ceiling, doors that opened on the second floor with nothing below if you stepped outside, but the garden. Doors that opened onto 1/4 inch of storage space, skylights that gave a view of the floor below. She had several spider web pattern leaded glass windows in her house. She had 13 lights in a chandelier, 13 hooks supposedly used for her seance robes. Thirteen daisies in each panel of her stained glass windows in her bedroom. But is this the truth or myth? I have tried to come to some conclusion about this 160 room mansion, with 13 bathrooms, 13 bathrooms, a seance room, an aviary, a greenhouse inside her Victorian manison. Well...Deep Screams is a Science Fiction/Horror/Paranormal and the fourth book I have published. I was surprised to get the award as I did not know I was in contention for it. BooksandAuthors.net is a site that promotes some of the best talent in the world in all genres. They do reviews and promote novels and only a select few are given the honor of Best Book of the year. I am not sure on how many other Science Fiction novels there were, I am just elated to have won. It is again proof that people with disabilities can do anything they put their mind to do. Faith Helen Mortimer Long story. I sat an Open University exam, (science) and passed. This I felt gave me good standing; stamina, dedication and confidence to write my first novel...which I did. Yes all my books are published on Amazon and in paperback as well as eBook format. My first novel, The Crossing is based on a true life story of a friend of ours.

Shaun, you have described Sin as 'dark', we want to know what you mean by that. Is 'dark' the genre you always want to write? Tell us what is your favourite genre?





Shaun Allan Hi Shah. Well, the description of dark was actually from a review. Sin has been called dark and disturbing, as well as an incredible read. When I wrote it I wasn't aiming for that feeling, but the book sort of wrote itself, so the mood suited the main character. People die around Sin. He treats it with a certain sense of humour, but can't escape that fact. Sin is very much a part of me, but I'm very relaxed and happy, so perhaps he's my 'dark half'? I find it very easy to write as Sin, hence his blog which is written from his point of view. I am not sure if that's a good thing...




Shaun Allan I didn't mention the genre. I don't write a book to a specific genre. Half the time I don't know what the story will be until it is complete. I never plan them out.

Adam Sifre Hi Shah. I am very happy with how my short stories turned out, by and large. When I write a story, I'm more concerned with presenting the reader with a moment that, no matter how bizarre, feels genuine, and I like to do it in as few words as possible. I think I accomplish this rather nicely.



Adam Sifre However, I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed with the lack of interest when it comes to actually paying for my work. That's a hazard of self-publishing, I suppose.
